A few words from co-founders; Sally & Tony;

“Reputations aren’t built in a day and at Anthony James Property we know that at first hand.  We’ve worked hard to be where we are now and our experience in the property business has established us as one of the premier property experts in the North East of England.  We’ve come a long way since we took a massive leap of faith over 10 years ago…

For a number of years, we watched how other agents worked and couldn’t believe how many times they got things wrong. Poor customer service, shoddy workmanship and a lack of communication were just some of the things we noticed. We decided that we could do a much better job ourselves.

Thereafter followed many long hours of training and attendances at numerous property courses before we opened up our first branch as a letting agent in Sunderland. Since then, we’ve gone from strength to strength & earned a valued reputation as a specialist-letting agent and used that expert knowledge to launch our sales department.

We’re very proud of our route into property lettings and value the relationship we have with buyers, vendors, landlords & tenants alike. We are regarded by many as the go to people in the North East and consider ourselves to be a one-stop shop for all your property needs. We also source properties for investors, give a fast quotation to refurbish, rent it out and manage the property going forward. The landlord can have as much or as little involvement as they want, knowing that their investment is in safe hands.

To complement our services, we also have our own in-house maintenance team; Anthony James Maintenance, consisting of various multi-skilled tradesmen who do everything from changing a light bulb to full property refurbishment.

Everyone at Anthony James Property operate as a close-knit team for the benefit of you, our customer. We offer a personal approach and realistic practical attitude to property as well as having the ability to make a great cup of coffee.

I have worked in the property sector for over 10 years now. Observing other agents, I saw so many unsatisfied vendors and landlords all suffering from the dwindling reputation of other agents in the area, so much so that I wanted to do something positive. Initially Tony and I started our own letting agency. We now have a full team of experienced professionals who have undergone relevant training. We have built up an excellent maintenance, sales & lettings department and constantly strive to be the most ambitious, professional and always the best. My role in the company is to manage & oversee all departments but in particular lettings. I love my job & find property interesting & exciting, I’m looking forward to opening our next branch in the near future.

My role in Anthony James Property certainly is varied and very enjoyable. As well as being the co-owner I am the Maintenance manager, which often means I need to rely heavily on my 30 years’ experience in property and the property maintenance sector. I am very proud of what we have achieved so far and how bright the future is for the company.

Coming from an accountancy and retail background, I started working for Anthony James Property as an administration assistant and have grown with the company using my accountancy skills and experience to gain an AAT Level 2 qualification and further developing my career by continuing study to become a member AAT. I really enjoy my role dealing with rental accounts of tenants and landlord payments, as well as VAT returns and preparing company accounts.
